The equine community located in the Greater Metropolitan Detroit area is continuously expanding. More people are purchasing horses and transporting them to various rural locations for the purcpose of riding them in the countryside, woodlands, and the open spaces, underscoring the need to create and maintain a viable trail system that can be safely used by the equine community. As such, the mission of the Kensington Trail Riders Association (KTRA) is to preserve, protect and improve the equine trail system located within the borders of the Kensington Metropark, and within the guidelines established by the Huron-Clinton Metropark Authority.
